// He's the man responsible for bringing the world the Bloody Beetroots, The Kills, & MSTRKRFT, he is the founder of Dim Mak, a world famous record and fashion label, he has graced the covers of BMP, LA Times, Skinnie, and Status magazine, as well as had his face all over the pages of Rolling Stone. he whipped the crowd into a frenzy at last years Good Vibrations festival, and now he's back on Australian shores for his own headline tour. Ladies and gentlemen, Villa Nightclub opens its doors to one of the biggest parties of the year, Knowledge Music & triple j present, STEVE AOKI.
Steve Aoki and friend Mark The Cobra Snake started throwing parties in Isla Vista, USA when in college, and by his early 20's Dim Mak was born. Aokis forward thinking taste in music has propelled him to the spotlight, standing as the face of a new generation of party goers and clubbers world wide. Named best party DJ by Ibiza Loves, and taking the award for Best Set Of The Year in 2008 by Paper Magazine, covers and features in magazines all over the world quickly followed. As a solo artist Aoki has remixed huge names like Bloc Party and Peaches, Snoop Dogg to Lenny Kravitz and in the next month, drops the most anticipated release of the year, his debut single. When Aoki hits Perth in October, you'll be seeing much more than just the man behind the infamous 1, 2, Woop Woop! ( The Bloody Beetroots - Warp )
Joining Steve Aoki for his first Australian tour, one of the brightest new talents in British dance music. The incredibly talented A1 BASSLINE, Christian Shank. Christian started life in groundbreaking UK band Partyshank, that had video plays on MTV Underground, and headline slots all around Europe. From the ashes of this project, Christian launched A1 Bassline, a subgenre of electro bassline music all of his own. From the success of his Girl Thing E.P recieving 4.5/5 in DJ Mag, slots at Bestival and the Electric Daisy Carnival, to official remixes for names like Little Boots, Wiley, and Ladyhawke, its no wonder Christians new single Badman Horror Theme has been picked up for the track behind the Nike 5 Campaign this Summer.
Praised from everybody from Fake Blood to Annie Mac, Kissy Sell Out to Jack Beats Christian has toured the USA 3 times, Canada, and most of Europe, with a heavy schedule around. Sessions on BBC Radio 1, downloaded over 50,000 times take him back and forth across the Atlantic, sealing that A1 Bassline in the biggest deal in UK dance music today.
Alongside the cream of the US and UK crop we have Perths best taste makers from all the greatest partys the city has to offer. Jus Haus, who just took the title of Absolut DJ comp and is off to Sydney for the finals, Hickey, responsible for Shapes Easy Tiger party, and has racked up slots at Stereosonic, and Summdayze, the Bumps' Bad Weather, and Dorcia's RADDJS.
